Oath or affirmation to be administered to witnesses. — An oath or affirmation shall, if so required by the Act, be administered to every witness before he gives his evidence by the judge-advocate (if any), a member of the court, or some other person empowered by the court in one of the following forms or in such other form to the same purport as the court ascertains to be according to the religion or otherwise binding on the conscience of the witness. Form of Oath “I,...............................,swear by almighty God that what I shall state shall be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Forms of Affirmation “I................................,do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and affirm that what I shall state shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”
