153A. Appointment of public trustee.—(1) The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint a person as public trustee to discharge the functions and to exercise the rights and powers conferred on him by or under this Act.

(2) The provision of this section shall not apply on and after the commencement of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2000.
