29. Lighting-application and commencement.- (1) Subject as in these Rules provided, Rules 29 to 33 shall apply to factories in which persons are being regularly employed in a manufacturing process or processes for more than 48 hours a week, or in shifts, provided that nothing in these Rules shall be deemed to require the provision of lighting of a specified standard in any building or structure so constructed that, in the opinion of the Chief Inspector, it would not be reasonably practicable to comply with such requirements.

(2) Rules 29 to 33 shall come into force, in respect of any class or description of factories, on such dates as the Chief Commissioner may, by notification in the Official gazette, appoint in this behalf.
