44. Court competent to try offences under this Act and take cognizance of offences.- (1) No court other than the court of a Magistrate of the first class shall take cognizance of, or try an offence under this Act, (2) No court shall take cognizance of any offence under this Act except on a complaint in writing of an officer empowered by rules made in this behalf. | |||||
