2. Repeal and savings.- (1) The following Acts, in so far as they apply to areas to which this Act applies, are hereby repealed: - (i) The Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 (ii) The U.P. Land Revenue Act, 1901. (iii) So much of any other law or of any rule having the force of law for the time being in force as is inconsistent with the provisions of this Act. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, all rules, appointments, assessments, partitions and transfers made, notifications, proclamations and orders issued, authorities and powers conferred, farms granted, record-of-rights and other records framed, rights acquired, liabilities incurred, rents fixed, places and times appointed and other things done, under any of the enactments hereby repealed shall, in so far as they are not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be deemed to have been respectively made, issued, conferred granted, framed, acquired, incurred fixed, appointed and done under this Act. (3) Any enactment or document referring to any enactment hereby repealed shall be construed to refer to this Act or to the corresponding portions thereof. |
