1. The Chancellor. - (1) The Chancellor shall be appointed by the Visitor recommended by the Executive Council from amongst three persons of eminence in the field of academic, maritime, public administration, or public life of the country: Provided that if the Visitor does not approve of any of the persons so recommended, he may call for fresh recommendations from the Executive Council. (2) The Chancellor shall hold office for a term of three years and shall be eligible for re-appointment: Provided that notwithstanding the expiry of his term of office, the Chancellor shall continue to hold office until his successor enters upon his office. |
